Lessons
What happens in the hour.
Sixty minutes, screen shared, in your own project. What we do is set by what you tell me when you book, so no two sessions run the same.
What we can cover
What we can work on.
Your answers set the focus. These come up most.
- Kick design and tuning
- Kick and bass relationship
- Rumble and sub weight
- Percussion and groove
- Call and response patterns
- Swing and timing
- Distortion and clipping chains
- Sound design and synthesis
- Arrangement and energy
- Mixdown
- Loudness and mastering
- Translating on big systems
- Sample selection
- Workflow and finishing tracks
- Track feedback
- Releasing and promo
How it works
Booking takes two minutes.
-
01
Book and pay
Select a time and pay in the same step. There is no enquiry form and no waiting for a reply before a slot can be confirmed.
-
02
Complete the booking questions
Three short questions are included in the booking form. Your answers determine what the session covers.
-
03
The session, and the recording
Sixty minutes over Zoom with screen sharing, working in your project. The full session is recorded and sent to you afterwards, so there is no need to take notes during it.
The three questions
- What are you working on at the moment? Include a link if you have one. An unfinished loop is more useful than a completed track.
- What is not sounding right? Specific answers are more useful than general ones. "The kicks feel weak" gives more to work with than "I want to improve".
- What have you already tried? This avoids covering ground you have been over already.
Pricing
Rates, per session or in blocks.
Prices are listed in euro, as most students are based in Europe. Payment is taken at booking. Rescheduling is free up to 24 hours beforehand.
These are founding rates. The first 20 students keep them for as long as they keep booking, even after the price rises. From student 21 a single session is €80 and the five block is €360.
Reduced rate, once per student. The cheapest way to find out if this is useful.
60 minOne hour, no commitment after it.
60 minEnough to get through a full track and its mixdown. Saves €30.

I am a complete beginner. Is this too early?
No. Beginners often move fastest because there are no bad habits to unpick. Say where you are at in the form and we start there.
Do I have to use Ableton?
Ableton is what I work in, so that is what appears on screen. The ideas carry across to FL and Logic, and plenty of students work in those.
What if I do not have a track to bring?
Then we start something from nothing and you watch every decision as it happens. Some people get more out of that.
Is it only hard techno?
Techno and hard techno are what I know best. If you are making something next door to it, message me first and we will work out whether it is a fit.
Can I ask you things between lessons?
Message me and I will answer. Anything that needs a screen share works better as a session.
What time zone are you in?
Australia. Availability is set to suit European hours, and the booking calendar displays times in your own time zone.
What if it is not for me?
That is what the trial is for. Take one, see if it was useful, book again only if it was.
