About

Eight years producing techno and hard techno.

Most of what I know came from releasing records, playing them on club systems, and finding out where they fell short in front of an audience.

How I learned this

At the peak of it I was touring interstate most weekends, which meant hearing my own mixdowns on a different system every week. That makes it clear very quickly which production decisions hold up and which ones only ever worked in headphones.

That is the part worth passing on. The judgement calls are difficult to develop without hearing your own material played loud and identifying where it breaks down.

It is the only real evidence that a mixdown holds up outside my own room, which is why it is on the page.
